We are a very friendly drama group based in Cottingham. We put on two public productions a year, in May and September, at the Darby & Joan Hall in Finkle Street, Cottingham, rehearsing on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for about three months before each main production.

Recent productions include “Calendar Girls”, the bitter-sweet comedy by Tim Firth,   “Oh What A Lovely War”, Joan Littlewood’s hilarious and touching First World War play and “Ladies’ Day”, Amanda Whittington’s hilarious take on four Hessle lasses’ day at the races.

As well as our main productions, we hold regular monthly play readings (usually in The Duke of Cumberland or King Billy), produce several shorter, informal productions and have a varied programme of social events – so far this year we have dined, danced, quizzed, raced and even had our own murder mystery!

We always welcome new members. So much goes into a production that you’re bound to find something you enjoy doing – set building, scene painting, making costumes, finding props, operating the lights, recording sound effects, front of house, selling programmes, prompting, providing refreshments, selling tickets, designing posters – oh, and acting too, if you fancy giving that a go!

If you like the sound of this, then why not find out more? Give Sue (843393) a call, pop along to one of our monthly play readings, or check us out at a rehearsal.
