When we are Married

CLECKLEYWYKE, WEST RIDING, 1908

The Helliwells, the Parkers and the Soppitts are the epitome of respectability– but not for much longer!

Married by the same vicar on the same day, the three couples are gathered to celebrate their silver wedding when they discover that the vicar wasn’t licensed to perform marriages. Pandemonium breaks out as these pillars of society realise that for the last 25 years they’ve been living in sin!

“Brimming full of wit, warmth and Northern cheekiness, ‘When We Are Married’ is a non-stop barrage of belly laughs; a jewel of a comedy.”

“At times daft, occasionally tense, but always funny, this is a must-see comedy with a proud Yorkshire accent.”

”Hilarious from start to finish.”

CLT are delighted to be performing J B Priestley’s classic comedy as part of our 2020 celebrations.
